On this Day in Weather History... *In 1910, a great flood inundated Nevada and Utah. One hundred miles of the railroad from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles were washed out. *In 1994, very strong winds struck the Northern Front Range of Colorado in the morning. Gusts reached 105 mph atop Squaw Mountain near Idaho Springs, and 89 mph at Fort Collins. In addition, a fast moving winter storm produced 6 inches of snow in Iowa, while up to a foot of snow fell across the Snowy Range Mountains in southeast Wyoming.
