On this Mother’s Day, I choose to celebrate the many women who love my children. I’ve listed as many of you as possible, but I know the list below is incomplete. I could only tag those with Facebook accounts, and I’m sure I missed someone. But by taking a moment to count the number of women who have helped me in some way with Elizabeth and Ian, it filled my heart with joy. Surely, I am blessed :-) Maybe you’re a mother or grandmother who loves my kids as your own. Maybe you let them sleep over at your house so I could have a quiet evening to myself. Maybe you babysat my children while I went to work or class, or when I needed to take a break from life and go play basketball. Maybe you hold my kids, play with them, encourage them, and pray for them. Maybe you’ve never spent that much time around Elizabeth and Ian (maybe you’ve never even met them in person), but you’ve made their lives better through the love, support, and encouragement you’ve shown me over the past year.
