On this THROW-BACK THURSDAY, the big question is.....Hey boomers, its a THROW-BACK Thursday, so the question is.... Where were YOU in the 70s? And please dont depress us by saying you werent BORN yet! Back then, I was where I should be all the time (because I was SO VAIN)! LOL! SO many memories of those lazy, hazy, daze! Here are pictures of me and a girlfriend on the real LOVE BOAT in the fall of 1976. We were on a wonderful....and very memorable.....ten-day cruise of the Mexican Riviera on the PACIFIC PRINCESS ship. Princess Cruise Lines had just started a major marketing campaign targeted to a younger cruising clientele. They started calling their fleet of cruise ships (I think there were three or four of them) The Love Boats in the fall of 1976, and there was most definitely a lot of lovin goin on! I think we were on one of the very first cruises after that campaign started because I remember a big banner at the reception desk inside the ships entrance that read WELCOME TO THE LOVE BOAT! A few months after that cruise, ABC Television announced they would be premiering a new TV series called THE LOVE BOAT. It debuted on the network in the fall season of 1977, and was a big hit that stayed on the air for ten years! Here we are on The Love Boat! Now didnt we make a LOVELY LOVE BOAT couple....especially in our very cool 70s clothes?
