On this Veterans Day I feel the need to share whats on my heart: To those family and friends who believe war is atrocious, horrific, and unnecessary... to those who protest against our men and women in the armed forces I say this: I agree with the first two facts. War is a terrible thing. People on both sides are wounded and die. Innocent people, including women and children, are maimed and find themselves homeless and parent-less. Having stated the obvious I would like to add that war is an inevitable fact of life. Sadly, there is evil in the world and where there is evil there is selfish ambition and desire. When selfish ambition meets selfish desire greed is born. Greedy people put their wants ahead of the needs and rights of everyone else, launching their attempts at attaining as much wealth and power as they can. When this level of greed reaches to government it morphs into power plays that affect countries and its citizens. Uncaring factions, men and women with power at their fingertips, attempt to force their will upon anyone who would stand in their way, and wars erupt. In this great country, The United States of America, we refuse to stand by and allow those whose moral and ethical behaviors have slipped to this level to impose their tyranny without opposition. You have the right make spectacles of yourselves, decrying war and the atrocities that happen because of it. But remember and admit that men and women fought for and died to give you that right. They approached war with the understanding that pure evil exists, and it MUST be resisted! Im glad your foolish notions that if we just try harder we can all get along arent shared by the greater majority of citizens in the USA. You stand on the backs of too many good men and women for me to remain silent. If you believe a passivize approach is the answer to evil, then be my guest and go to Mexico and discuss your ideology with the Cartel. But do not defame the men and women who gave of themselves to win the freedom you so arbitrarily abuse.
