On this auspicious Friday, I dedicate this Joe Honey poem to my friend Rb Salleh in response to his inspiring pieces that I have come across here in Facebook. A poet by inclination, his poetic style is fluent and penetrating, especially when he is in his elements, inspired and creative. Poetry and lyrics seem to be the medium of communication with which he is completely at ease: Dear Rb Life’s like that, there are ups and downs For those who wear denim jeans or royal crowns And there are moments when we fall flat Smear our bloody faces, no matter if we are thin or fat The thing to do is to rise when you fall Walk straight make sure you are standing tall Build that lost fortune with guts, sweat and tears Well, never mind if it will take you years and years Let me say this to one and all now that I am still here For I want this piece of my mind to be absolutely clear To all relatives, friends and well wishers I hold so dear Then I can finally rest in comfort with calmness and ease In eternal tranquility, happiness and peace.
