On this day 11 years ago I stopped smoking. The day started like any other. My daughter was over for Christmas. I had water jug filled with coins that I told her she can buy Xmas gifts for her aunt, uncle and grandparents. We cashed them in for about $121. It was coins I saved for the year. So we went shopping that day. We ended up at Walgreens for some reason. My daughter had $60 left over. I ask the lady at the counter for a carton of Marlboro menthol lights. My daughter disappeared. I found her behind the counter. She proceeded to ask me which one do you want? The gum or the patch. Im like what are you talking about. I look up... She says again which one do you want? So you can quit smoking. I was speechless. I couldnt say a word. Waves of emotion came over me. I told the lady to put back the cigarettes and proceeded to checkout. Went to my car and crushed my last remaining pack of cigarettes. I quit smoking cold turkey that day. I would like to say thanks to my daughter Mariah. I couldnt done it without you.
