On this day, 16 years ago, I was surrounded by the people who meant the most to me, awaiting the arrival of my second child.... Praying he was the little boy I had seen in my dreams! (Yes! Pregnant women dream of their unborn children) This delivery was much different than my first delivery. It was scheduled ahead of time and planned out because I was due on opening day of deer season that year.... And we all know how my family is with deer season! I had my mom and dad there, my sister, my friend Ali, my little sister/babysitter JoJo, my MawMaw and my husband there in the delivery room, supporting me that day! I also had my Grampa Mike and my first child Emma, waiting impatiently in the waiting room to meet her new baby! I had the most amazing doctor and fabulous nurses! The day was finally here... The day I would meet the little one who had been impatiently trying to make his appearance for months, 6 months to be exact! The doc was next door at the clinic, awaiting our call to say it was time to deliver this little guy. And, as had become his norm, this baby was impatient and couldnt wait to make his debut! The doc almost missed the whole thing! I had to coax this kid into waiting just a few more minutes.... When the doc handed me this little man, all wrinkled up and skinny, looking like a carbon copy of his then 88 year old Opa, I knew this was going to be a wise young man, full of life! He was an old soul in a tiny little boy! I was not mistaken! This little baby grew into a very intelligent, loving young man! He has a wisdom beyond his mere 16 years! He is a born comedian who loves nothing more than to make others laugh!! He loves his family, is extremely proud of his heritage and is smarter than any 16 year old should ever be!! I have been blessed to call this kid my child!! I know great things lie ahead of him and I cannot wait to see where his life takes him!! Although we butt heads at times because hes as stubborn as his momma, he is my joy and my light in some of my darkest days! He makes me laugh, even when I dont want to!! He has given me 16 years of love and laughter! I cannot imagine how boring my life would be without this character in it! I love you, my little Booger Man! I hope you know how much you mean to me.... Even on the days I wanna beat you!! ❤️
