On this day 38 years ago, my life was changed forever. A pastor took my hand and asked me to help marry my parents. My mom and Mr. Bill were getting married. He was only Mr. Bill for a short time. He showed me so much love that I asked if I could call him daddy. That was the first time I ever saw a man cry. We never used the term step-dad. There is something to say about a man who will love another mans children as his own. Yes, we had difficult times, I was a teenager. LOL! But he loved me like his own from beginning to end. I will never forget the last 10 hrs with him. We had many tears. Tears of joy that we were blessed to have each other. Tears of sorrow because we knew the end was drawing near. I told him that I would be fine because I knew he would be free of pain, and I would see him again in Heaven. I wear the wedding band he gave my mom on my thumb. Its a gentle reminder of how blessed I was to him in my life. Sending Anniversary hugs to my daddy in Heaven. Till we meet again! Love and miss you daddy!
