On this day, 5 years ago, I was rocking a sick 4 month old baby girl. I already planned on taking the day off and taking her to the doctor. Then my phone rang. That moment is frozen in time. I remember where I was, what I was doing and most importantly what I already knew in my heart before I even answered. Today should be a celebration. Today, 5 years ago, my mom became cancer free. She shed her earthly, weak and cancerous body, for a strong and healthy Heavenly one. She is missed every single day. I see her in my children. I hear her in my voice and things I say. I even see her in my physical features like my hands and face. Thank you Lord for surrounding me with your little reminders of just how precious my Mama is and was. Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
