On this day 50 years ago one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known was murdered in broad daylight by people in his own government who wanted to reverse his policies of peace and coexistence. The assassination of President John F Kennedy was not just an American tragedy, it was a tragedy for all peace loving people of the world, and the implications of his murder are still felt to this day. A great man who wanted to end the Cold War and diminish the threat of nuclear war was killed by men who wanted the profits and power that went along with the continuation of war. If John Kennedy had lived, the world would be a much different place. The Cold War would have ended in the 60s, there would have been no Vietnam. A new age of prosperity and peace would have opened up the entire world to a new way of life and so much could have been accomplished. Also on this day, a young American Patriot who worked tirelessly for his country throughout his 24 years on this earth was arrested and paraded in front of the world and called Assassin. He was tried in the media and found guilty without a trial and then silenced before he could prove his innocence. In one of the most shameful displays of biased investigation he was tried and convicted in the worlds eyes and branded Assassin of a President, when in fact he was trying to prevent the assassination. 50 years on people like me still seek the truth behind these events, and I for one will never give up seeking that truth R.I.P Mr President. We shall find your killers some day. R.I.P Lee Oswald. You will be vindicated. And the truth shall set you free!
