On this day July 4th, 2011, we are gathered here to share with Heinz Gehner and Heather Gehner and their decision to continue their lives together. You have come here today from your varied life experiences to make public the commitment you have made to each other. You have come to combine your two separate lives into one, and we are here to rejoice and share in the joy of your love and commitment to each other. Know as we stand here today among the gifts of nature that your love will grow and be as the ocean moving and flowing. Know also that as the ocean is never ending and has been here from the beginning of time and will be here at the end of time, and so your love for each other can be as the ocean never ending for all time. Allow this day the power, strength and beauty of these waters to become one with you and your vows and commitments to each other. I say to you this day a blessing for the life you are about to begin: Above you are the stars, below you are the stones. As time does pass, remember; Like a star should your love be constant. Like a stone should your love be firm. Be close, yet not to close. Honor your differences and be understanding. Have patience with the other; for storms will come but they will pass quickly. Be free in giving affection and warmth. Make love often, and be sensuous to one another. Have no fears, and let not the ways of others cause you discomfort. For the Spirit of the Mother, Father, God is with you now and always.
