On this day a dozen years ago a coup endorsed by the U.S. government against the democratic government of Venezuela was defeated by people power. In significant part because of that historic turnaround on April 13, 2002, Latin America has made big strides forward over the past dozen years. But Uncle Sam and his colleagues in corporate and Conservative Canada never stop trying to turn back the clock, and take back control over their backyard. You have to keep these basics in mind every time you read a mainstream media report on Venezuela.
