On this day in 1909, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) was started as the University of the Philippines College of Agriculture. Since then, UPLB has become a center of excellence for agricultural, environmental and developmental education producing graduates and studies recognized not only in the Philippines but also in other countries. In the recent QS World University Rankings, UPLBs programs in agriculture and forestry were ranked as among the best in the world. Today, the UPLB celebrates its 105th Foundation Day, continuing a tradition of honor and excellence which is recognized not only in the country and the region, but also all over the world.
