On this day in...1917 World War 1: The British Royal Family, in a proclamation issued by George V, adopted the name of the House of Windsor in place of their German family name of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha due to the anti-German sentiment at the time. We are in the full and final stages of the preparation for the WW1 exhibition and we are very excited about it. It is going to be a fantastic exhibition and one we hope many people will come along to experience and enjoy.
