On this day in 1941, the Japanese Fleet attacked the US Pacific - TopicsExpress

On this day in 1941, the Japanese Fleet attacked the US Pacific Fleet stationed at Pearl Harbour. This day was a turning point for World War 2. Before this, the American were reluctant to take part in the World War 2 as they have learnt a tough lesson from World War 1. They were reluctant to sacrifice their lives, economic and resources to fight for another World War which in fact just a War of Europe. This attack had actually helped the then UK Prime Minister, Churchills plan in dragging US into a war which they were most probably unable to win alone by the weak ally between UK and France against the powerful Nazi Germany Army. This attack opened the gate for President Roosevelt to declare a state of war against the Empire of Japan. No person was more happy than Churchill at that time. Subsequently, backed up by the strong industrial force from the US and the involvement of the bloody Soviet Unions Red Army, the Allies won the war. However, it resulted in an estimated 60 million fatalities. These made World War II the deadliest conflict in human history and no one should be proud of this part of history. #NoWarAnymore #HumanLifeisPreciousandInvaluable
