On this day in 1943: The Garland magic strikes again. Judy was on the MGM recording stage, pre-recording The Trolley Song for Meet Me In St. Louis. After just one rehearsal, she completed the song in one take. An additional take was made for insurance, but the take used in the film is in fact the first one. Time called: 1 p.m.; arrived at 1:45 p.m.; dismissed 4 p.m. After completing the two takes, Judy then rehearsed Skip to My Lou - both songs with the MGM Studio Chorus.
