On this day in 1961: April 7 -- Nat King Cole with Richard Wess conducting his own arrangements to the studio orchestra, records the title Capuccina, two takes (with a unidentified vocal group on the second take) of Let True Love Begin (Lets Begin Again), and the titles Love and I Heard You Cried Last Night at Capitol Records studios in New York, New York. Capitol Records will issue the first take of Cappucina and the second take of Let True Love Begin (Lets Begin Again) together as a single (Capitol 4623), I Heard You Cried Last Night in England on the compilation album The Unreleased Nat King Cole (EMS1279) and, after additional rhythm tracks are recorded at a later date for Capuccina and Let True Love Begin, Capitol will release the new versions of those two songs in 1967 on Coles compilation album Sincerely (T 2680). Bear Family Records will issue all the songs and all the takes in the CD box set Nat KIng Cole - The Complete Capitol Recordings (1960-1964) (BCD 16717).
