On this day in 1963: Videotaping of both the dress rehearsal (from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) and the final performance (from 9 to 10:30 p.m.) of Episode Fifteen of The Judy Garland Show at the CBS Television City, Stage 43, Hollywood, CA. This episode is also known as The Christmas Show and has since become a classic. On had to help Judy celebrate the season were Jack Jones, Mel Torme, and Judys children - Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft and Joe Luft. Liza brought along her boyfriend Tracy Everitt to join in the festivities and to perform a delightful version of Steam Heat with her. Judy sang Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (naturally!), Little Drops of Rain (one of her favorites), Consider Yourself (with Lorna and Joe), and The Christmas Song (with Torme), as well as participating in a couple of holiday medleys and dancing with some crazed Santas who would pop in from time to time (video bombing the proceedings it might be called now).
