On this day in 2008, Serbian swimmer Milorad Čavić won the gold medal at the European Championships in Swimming (50m butterfly) with the time of 23.11 seconds, beating European record. The European Swimming Federation, two days later, banned Cavic to compete until the end of the European championships in Eindhoven because, during the awarding of medals Čavić was wearing a shirt with the inscription Kosovo is Serbia. Милорад Чавић освојио је златну медаљу на првенству Европе у пливању (50m, делфин) пошто је у финалној трци тријумфовао резултатом 23,11 секунди, оборивши европски рекорд. Европска пливачка федерација, два дана касније, забранила је Чавићу да се такмичи до краја првенства у Ајндховену, пошто је током доделе медаља носио мајицу с натписом Косово је Србија. Претило му је и одузимање медаље и поништавање рекорда.
