On this day in MJ HIStory – 20 November 1984 Michael received his own star on Hollywood Boulevard’s ‘Walk of Fame’. He was already represented in the star for the Jacksons and thus became the first to be featured in two different stars. His solo star was located outside the famous Chinese Theatre at Michael’s own request. The unveiling ceremony drew about 6,000 fans – the largest crowd to attend such a presentation. Michael appeared at the ceremony for only three minutes before being advised to leave by security as the crowd grew out of control. His acceptance speech was reduced to just five words – “Thank you very, very much!” Today his star lies close to the concrete slabs bearing his hand and shoe prints and those left by his children in the forecourt of the Chinese Theatre, next door to Madame Tussauds where his was figure is a perennial favourite. - Kerry [Sources: @WeloveyouMJJ and mjjtime.blogspot and many others]
