On this day last week my one & only son Quadey Boy Bayles was admitted into hospital for an MRI, adenoidectomy & grommets after seeing the declining results with hearing tests & sleep studies due to his severe obstructive sleep apnoea, common in achondroplasia. Over the last month weve noticed Quadey hasnt been his usual crazy self, well not as full in anyway. He was falling over a lot, spewing randomly, sleeping way too much, punching himself in the head & knees crying in pain, walking around covering his ears & eyes which still seem sensitive to light & noise, and has been more clingy, wanting to be babied. He still manages to amuse himself & entertain everyone with his crazy little random outbursts but as much as I hate to admit it, I knew deep down something was wrong as he is just not the same. Although he looks fine most the time, the MRI shows signs of hydrocephalus & a build up of pressure around the brain & spinal chord. So we are still awaiting more results & further tests to determine what procedures to take next. Its been a tough week & is taking a toll on the family but I have absolutely nothing to complain about. We have received an overwhelming amount of love, support, prayers, gifts & well wishes so thank you all so very much as its all definitely helped keep us strong & positive. Its been the most humbling experience sharing our journey & I do it all to help raise much needed dwarfism awareness in our communities so my son can live as healthy & as happier life as possible. We have overcome so much already & have a long road to travel but Im up for the challenge & looking forward to much better year ahead. Thanks for being a part of our journey so far & please keep us in your prayers.
