On this day, sixty-eight years ago, the Japanese their empire over the Pacific to its rightful peoples, the free people of Asia. This marks the day that Korea was liberated from Japanese rule and shortly began the development of modern government. Albeit the schism of North and South was this began, none can deny that these two halves were once mutual prisoners behind the same bars. Happy Liberation Day! Today is Gwangbokjeol!
