On this day three years ago two girls lost their dad, a mother and father lost their son, our department lost a great co-worker and many of us lost a friend who we all looked up to and respected. Jared Francom taught me many things and gave me a ton of advice when I first started reserving as a Police Officer which in turn helped me become a full time Police Officer. I remember getting home from work that night and I started getting calls from co-workers left and right about how several of our officers were shot. My stomach sank as I anxiously awaited any updates on my friends. I remember getting the call that one of my close friends was shot in the face and then a short time later I got the call that Jared had passed away. I was devastated and cried the whole night thinking about how I had talked to him on the phone earlier that day and it would be the last time I would ever hear his voice. I was on the Honor Guard at work but could not participate in my normal duties at the funeral due to an ACL surgery a few weeks earlier. I had to participate and decided I would take photos at the funeral to try and get some photos for us all to remember. I could hardly stand on my knee and I had trouble taking pictures due to crying the entire time. I have attached a few photos to this post in honor of Jared Francom and hope you enjoy them. My time in law enforcement has come and gone but I will never forget that sacrifices that were made that night by all involved. They are all heroes in my eyes and I have the deepest respect for them. RIP Agent Jared Francom!
