On this eve of Christmas Eve, Im gearing up to pull out the chocolate cake recipe and whip up a few other favorite family traditions to get ready for the holiday, but I havent forgotten that I owe you all a book! As I mentioned last week, unexpected delays have pushed back the ebook version of my novel Watercolored Pearls, but Im still working on it, between holiday preparations and festivities. I could go deep into my writers cave this week and shut out the world to finish final touches; but family and friends come first during this season, so Im making sure to be present in the present. Today, as you go about your day, spend time preparing for the holiday, watch or listen to challenging news reports about events unfolding around our nation, begin thinking about all you want to accomplish in 2015, or simply try to find a reason to smile, consider that all the joy you need is within you. You are a gift, a light, a blessing all by yourself, if you choose to be. Embrace that truth and enjoy this day. Ill share one of my favorite Christmas songs tomorrow, but today Id like you to pause and truly give thanks for all that you are and the gifts you have to offer the world simply by being (or becoming) your best self.
