On this eve of Remembrance Day I am sitting here reflecting as I look at a picture of my father in uniform on my post-war growing up years, and thinking about the man who survived the Korean war as he did two years over there and came home physically broken and yes, mentally too, however, because he never talked about the horrors he had experienced, it was almost as if it never happened. Until one night much later in life, the memories he had buried surfaced with a vengeance. He was never the same after suffering from these flashbacks and he passed away shortly after. My Dad was a hero, but most of all he was MY HERO! R.I.P.! My thoughts will be with you and all the many others who served and sacrificed so much to protect us and give us our freedoms!
