On this international Womens Day I remember how moved I was when Rok And Sasa, from the University of Primorska, Slovenia, stopped our bus of students and faculty in Poland and gave each woman a Rose after a heartfelt speech. Today, it is more important than ever, that women have a place at the table...the peace table, the boardroom table, the legislative table, the negotiating table,and the dinner table. There is no time in history where womens voices are more needed in both public and private spheres. I thank my daughters, sisters, mother, friends, students and colleagues for their courage in refusing external definitions of self, and in their collective authentic voice, claiming power to transform our world.
