On to more mundane things now. Would you live programmes on TV with your Ads ? I was watching a quiz show earlier on today on TV and with the many advertisements etc. that came on in between bits of it, I actually forgot that I was watching the quiz show. I dont think this is the first time that this kind of thing has happened and I am thinking that TV ads have got out of hand. I think they need reining in, as the need to gain revenue from the ads seem to have obscured many TV companies realisation that their purpose is actually to provide a range of interesting and entertaining TV programmes ! Surely there is a better way of financing TV programmes ?!!! These advertisements are helpful up to a point, in letting us know of goods and services that we may be interested in, but otherwise the constant churning out of them, sometimes the same old ones during each break are literally wasting our lives, as well as our money, because guess who pays for them ultimately ? We do, when we buy the relevant goods and services. Praying for sanity in the world of advertising and merchandising etc., as well as thinking of things I can usefully do in between ads, whilst being able to go back into the programmes I am watching without missing the first bits when the ads stop :-) On the other hand, I have turned my TV off a few moments ago and am enjoying the wonderful and most under rated, peace and quiet without it, whilst sharing these gripes and hopefully helpful thoughts beyond them. To me, the peace and quiet is like, or even better than, the best champagne.
