Karl Marx =========================================== The imperialists (if it is not used to mask a set of capitalists) are hand in hand with Political Islam as well as religion industry. Religion industry of Vatican as well as theocracy (such as the Islamic republic of Iran or that of Israeli state) constitute one side of the problem. the other side, such as the US state & the Western governments in general, created, nurtured, supported, trained, paved the path for the Political Islam in the Middle East to grow including the overtake of political power by the IRI in Iran. The US created the al-Qaeda and the ISIS too. The whole purpose of Political Islam is to maintain cheap, silenced labor for both local (ME) and global capitalism. More about Religion: If one says religion is not the problem s/he might mean that religion as a thought is innocent in and by itself. Wrong! On a theoretical level, lets say as a set of morale rules or a thought for personal way of living, religion is wrong from the top to the bottom because it deprives man from a humane life. Religion must be confronted on its theoretical level by means of reason, facts and science. On a political level, if one claims that the history of man is a battlefield of thoughts, I say thats nonsense. The history of man is a battlefield of classes, more concretely a battlefield of opposing social movements. At this level, our class fights against the capitalist rules and for overtaking of the political power, be it a fight against a theocratic state, a secularist state or anything in between. People dont fight against a government for what it believes in but for WHAT the governments DO. After all, thats the definition of a state: a tool to enforce the interests of a class. It just so happens that a theocracy is proven to be one of the most vicious, violent, ultra-right wing of capitalism. On a third-level, religion is different from all other beliefs in that it is ** inherited **. You are not born liberal, communist, conservative, democrats... because your parents believe in any of those thoughts. However, you are assigned a religion at birth only because your parents believe in a religion (they in turn were assigned that religion at birth too, et al). Religion must be fought at this level too. No one shall be assigned any belief (religious or otherwise) at birth. ========================================= Taking a side against one side of capitalism doesnt justify your support for the other side of capitalism. Grow up lunatic left! ========================================= BTW - Hitchens was as lunatic as Chomsky is. They are just on opposing sides. However, neither Hitchens nor Chomsky are responsible for anything that the US/West/IRI states do because neither of these two guys hold/held political power. We sure can criticize their OPINIONS. However neither the US governments need Hitchens permission to nuke the ME nor the IRI would wait for Chomskys permission to nuke the Israel. These two were/are examples of power-less intellectual lunatic
