Once a Marine, always a Marine. I learned my Dads birthday by - TopicsExpress

Once a Marine, always a Marine. I learned my Dads birthday by remembering that it was the only day that was also a command. March Fourth/Forth. Today Id like to say Happy Birthday to the man who both brought me into this world and has threatened to take me out of it! Haha From you I learned to be respectful, faithful, and true. Although Ive heard from a lot of people that you have a commanding presence, you were never too big to come down to my level, and share your thoughts and counsel with me, in a way that was meaningful to me. I will be forever grateful for that. Beyond me, Ive seen him interact with others, and know that he treats them in much the same way. I remember going Home Teaching with him and visiting Ruby, and others. Ive seen the way he treats unruly scouts, grandchildren, church goers, community members, business associates, and clients. I can say without any reservation, that my Dad is somebody that I look up to in every respect and will spend my life trying to emulate. The same goes for my Mother. Ive been blessed with wonderful parents. Were not a very openly affectionate people. Hahaha, but on March Forth in particular, I want to express my gratitude and love for my Dad George Ikuo Watanabe. Hauʻoli lā hānau e kuʻu Mākuakane!
