Once a governor, senator, reps member or any elected political office holder defects, his seat should be declared vacant and a fresh election conducted between him in his new party and the candidate that will pick the ticket of his former party. You can not dump a party and still retain the ticket they gave u, and moreover you can not be a governor under a party that didnot give you their ticket. With so doing we can curb the political prostitutions making wave in the country. Its only our telecomm service providers that tells us that you can swap/port and still retain your number, i dont know if that works cos the adverts have ended.
