Once again, I have to thank God because my day could have quickly turned into a disaster. A reminder: Please, please, please remember to be good to the people who help you carry on everyday responsibilities in the service industry - the waiter, the hairdresser, or in this case, the mechanic! After running around all morning back to school shopping with the children, I briefly stopped back at the house to drop off some groceries before heading back out to finish my errands. The kids and I unloaded the truck but when I went to leave again, no dice - dead truck. I still had radio so immediately I thought I had to replace the starter or worse, the alternator. Before going into panic mode, I stopped to give thanks. My car didnt die miles from home but after all that running around and in my own driveway. To be stranded with a car full of kids ranks up there in my list of worst nightmares. God and the angels look after me, I thought. But .... theres more good news! I called the mechanic and he was nice enough to send someone, jump-start my truck and take it to his shop. Turns out, not a big expense - just a dead battery. Phew! Then he returned the truck to my home! Hows that for customer service?! So again!!!! The point of this post is: Always be kind and respectful to all the people who help you carry out your life - the cashier, the waitress, your kids pediatrician ... anyway, you get it - I even remember times when my accountant went into work on Saturday just to accommodate my needs and schedule. Respect - This post is about respect~! And gratitude ~! And not walking around like life owes you any favors because guess again ..... you open or close doors with your attitude - period - simple as that~!
