Once again I survived another week in Las Vegas at the #APP2013 Professional Piercers conference! Every year I am humbled to be invited back to help teach the “Sterilization” and “Preventing cross contamination in the workplace” workshops. We have had great reviews throughout the years and these classes they only continue to grow in popularity. Very special thanks to Ryan Ouellette for pushing to have these classes added to the conference a few years ago. Also thanks to John Joyce and Johnny Velez for being great co-instructors again this year. Sometimes I wish we had more time in Vegas to get caught up on many peoples lives that we only have the chance to see once a year. Over the past 9 years attending the conference I can honestly say I’ve met some of the greatest people I know and have developed some great friendships along the way. This year the APP had a record amount of new attendees and I’m grateful that there are a group of piercers out there willing to learn and continuing their education. It’s very rewarding speaking with the many new piercers after our classes listening about how much they have learned in just a short period of time! It’s quite a bit of information to absorb in just 5 days of classes, this is why it’s important to attend yearly and keep your mind fresh and always learning. As over whelming as it may seem at times I am proud to be a piercer, studio owner and a member of the APP. Thanks to the many new faces that I’ve met and to the familiar friends that help remind me how great of a community we are a part of. Thanks for the recharge and I look forward to the next conference in 2014 :)
