Once again our church is participating in a 40 Days of Prayer - TopicsExpress

Once again our church is participating in a 40 Days of Prayer devotional study...this time, on Gods health principles for His last-day people. Once again we are experiencing a deeper understanding of His Word, while learning how to care for our total health. Yes, diet is a part of the study; and so is exercise. But we are also rediscovering the importance of fresh air, use of water, sunlight, abstaining from that which is unhealthy (physically, emotionally, and spiritually), temperance in all things, and todays topic: Trust in Divine Power. As Christians, we often speak of the miracles of Jesus. We are rightly in awe of the majesty and power Christ displayed when He walked this earth. We assume that, since He was both fully God and fully human, it makes sense that Christ was able to do these miraculous things (healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, changing water to wine, etc.). But did you realize that Jesus left His divinity when He came to this earth. The power which He displayed is available to anyone who, like Jesus, surrenders self for will of God. Jesus was in constant communion with the Father. He spent hours, even days in prayer for those He came to save. In order for Christ to be the propitiation for our sins, in order for His death to bring complete atonement for all sin, for all time, He had to be fully human. He had to be susceptible to sin, just as we are susceptible to sin. He had to be tempted in all ways that we are tempted. And He had to be 100% victorious through those temptations. Jesus was victorious because He was in constant communion with the Father. If we put God first, denying self of our appetites and self indulgences, thinking always of meeting the needs of others, and obeying His Law, then we can be victorious in our lives. That same power from God can be manifested in us, to His glory!
