Once again, residents/taxpayers are lied to and betrayed by Candidates who falsified their election credentials and experience just to get elected into office. What upsets me the most about this incident is that this young man has started his life journey on the wrong foot at an early age ... 19 years old. Below is an email I received from one of the Candidates who ran in the last election for the position of Catholic School Board Trustee for Wards 7, 8, 9 and 10. To add insult to injury here, this young man was running for a Catholic School Board TRUSTEE ... emphasis on Trustee!!! If he is comfortable facing the public and telling them lies about his experience within the School system to secure votes, what is he capable of doing now that he is elected? His integrity is in question here not to mention that he betrayed the very people who trusted in him and decided to give him a chance! Candidates must start to realize that they are applying for a paid position by the Taxpayers! So, for example, if they were applying for a job at a company where they were asked on their application if they had any past criminal charges; were hired and the employer later learned that they did, that is called fraud and they could be dismissed by said employer and rightfully so. I feel that this should be the case here. This young man should be removed from his elected position if, for no other reason than misrepresentation to the public! Perhaps the Catholic School Board Taxpayers should make their feelings known and let the cards fall where they may. I for one, hope they do complain about this to the powers that be! It is time that these Candidates and elected politicians be made accountable for their actions! (Or maybe it is just a dream I want to come true :) ) Sylvia suspected that Shawn Xaviers history was not accurate so she decided to do some investigating. The following email shows the results: From: Sylvia Date: November 22, 2014 at 11:37:57 AM EST Subject: Fwd: Brampton Election 2014 - Misleading Information used to garner support - Shawn Xaviour. Dear Participants of the Brampton 2014 Election, As you have in one manner or form emailed me on or during the election, I bring this matter for you review. It is before the DPDCSB, the Brampton Guardian, and the Toronto Star. The following represents my complete correspondence regarding this Brampton 2014 Election regarding DPDCSB School Board Trustee Shawn Xaviour, who ran for Wards 7, 8 , 9, 10. The file is long however, very complete and for convenience posted at the website address: sylvia-aiello/election/election.html The principle issue noted throughout started with a letter from Laura Williams which was brought to my attention on Oct. 8th, 2014. Ms. Williams indicated that Shawn Xaviour had falsified, making untrue claims about his experience aimed at misleading the voters with respect to the above election. Shawn Xaviour specifically claims, For this reason, Xaviour took on the position also as the Student Trustee at St. Thomas Aquinas CSS and became a part of the School Boards Student Voice Council. He represented Duf erin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) within his school and attended frequent meetings to voice his school’s opinions. He also made sure that the students were aware of the changes and updates of the board. As a student trustee, Xaviour has the previous experience working with the board and helping it to grow and prosper in order to suit the needs of DPCDSB. [source: electshawnxaviour/about/] In summary, Shawn Xaviour specifically claims that he was a Student Trustee at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board representing St. Thomas Aquinas CSS. Shawn Xaviour further makes reference to such in his campaign literature, his debates, direct mail and Roger Cable appearance, all with the aim of misleading voters. The basis of these claims was misleading, and further used to acquire electoral support for his campaign. Having brought this issue up to the respective individuals at the DPCDSB, and others throughout this file, the material eventually leaked to Shawn Xaviour. With that said, you will notice that the remarks regarding Shawn Xaviours bio changed shortly after such which clearly indicates a desire to cover up the false and misleading statements used to gather this electoral support. I indicated to Mr. Kostoff, that I would be putting this matter before the publics eye today (approximately 1 week ago). I believe that Mr. Kostoff had a duty, as well as a moral obligation to act on this matter. Instead on taking action, Mr. Kostoffs representative, purported what I believe was a legal position crafted from the boards legal staff. Further complicating this matter is the relationship between endorsers and Shawn Xaviour, in this case Mr. Thomas Thomas who is relative and member of the DPCDSB, Mr. Thomas, ought to have known better, regarding Shawn Xaviours use of misleading statements to garner support for his candidacy. During my correspondence, I have called for the resignation of both Mr. Kostoff and Mr. Thomas which I believe there is a strong case to request such. I have not disclosed this file to the Toronto Star as I would like the story broken in Brampton; however, I believe that the issue are greater than can be dealt with in Brampton.
