Once again, setting aside questions of constitutional protocol, - TopicsExpress

Once again, setting aside questions of constitutional protocol, lets ask a more basic question: as the Affordable Care Act is essentially a product of the Senate, why do we not blame its misfires, delays and so forth on the Senate? Even if we remain charitable in that it was never meant to be essentially the final product that it was, where was the Senate majority in dissuading their colleagues in the House and the Oval Office that their course and consent could only result in a not-ready-for-primetime bill? The tyranny of the Peoples passions is often not measured in acts of cruelty, but well-intentioned missteps taken without good consul as a guide. We are awash in speculation of what a GOP controlled Senate may or may not do with little admonishment that such a crossroad would not reached if we had had good or even serviceable stewardship the past half-decade, itself brought to power in large part because we question the stewardship we had before that. If our recent past is only cause for inertia in both regards, then this model of the Senate is not well-constructed, and shows little promise of redeeming itself soon. huffingtonpost/2014/08/22/birth-control-accommodation_n_5699352.html
