Once again, thank you. A rather large number of you have have made donations to Stonekettle Station (via the Donate Button) in recent days. I assume that means you approve of this months essays and various entertainments. If you dont, dont worry, I will cheerfully take your money anyway. However, you should know that ShopKat and I will probably talk about you in puzzled tones of amusement. Speaking of cats and as to donation itself, there ARE certain ... benefits. ShopKat has access to advanced cybernetic systems, robotic manufacturing tools, and soon a high powered laser cutting system (which Im working to assemble and test this week. If I get the venting and water cooling system installed today we will make the first mirror calibration firings this afternoon. Then, we burn a hole through the MOON! Muwaahaha aaaa a er, um, I mean well probably do some test engraving). Now, evil laugh and hand rubbing aside, Im not saying that the cat will use these things in a bid for feline world domination, Im not NOT saying it either. Cats, you never know what theyre going to do. But, see, if you donate I put your name on THE LIST of humans who contribute to keeping ShopKat in liver bits... Thats got to count for something, right? Of course, once cats do take over that list might end up as the genesis for a new class of cat servants and I will be the Quisling who sold the remnants of the human race into bondage with little bells around our necks. Frankly, there is a risk, Im not saying there isnt. Cats are fickle gods: you pet their belly, you may find peace or you may unleash hell. But its better to be on the belly petting list than not. Anyway, what Im saying is: thanks, I sincerely appreciate it.
