Once again, the ANC takes the wrong side of a discussion. The organisation is now defending Riyah Piyega and telling everyone to get their hands off Piyega and let the IPID investigation continue. This matter should not be about the ANC or DA, it should simply be about integrity of a state unit. The calls for the Commissioner to be suspended are not or rather should not be about whether Piyega is a member of the ANC or not, the calls are about protocol and what needs to be done. When allegations surfaced about President Zumas misconduct in 2005, deputy president then, President Thabo Mbeki did the right thing and moved the man aside until such time that he has cleared his name. Everyone cried foul of Mbeki getting rid of Zuma for political reasons. Is this the culture of the ANC or SA in general? The culture of not understanding or caring about matters of corporate and public institutions governance?
