Once again the Gold Glove voting process drops the ball. Nolan - TopicsExpress

Once again the Gold Glove voting process drops the ball. Nolan Arenado beat out Pablo Sandoval for the Gold Glove at 3B, yet Arenado had a lower Fielding Percentage (.959 vs. .971 for Sandoval) played in 40 fewer games and committed 4 more errors than the Panda. Voting for Gold Gloves creates unnecessary bias while the award should simply be based on stats, whether that be attempts, putouts, errors, fielding percentage, whatever; why bring in the human voting to mess with the one thing the baseball purists love? Statistics! Well at least Panda has three World Series rings and a World Series MVP trophy to keep his trophy stocked.
