Once again this summer Denver Zoo is participating in the School - TopicsExpress

Once again this summer Denver Zoo is participating in the School to Work Alliance Program (SWAP). This 8-week program trains student participants that have been identified as having a disability, or are suspected to have a disability, how to survive in a work environment by learning skills such as how to work as a team. At the Zoo, students assist staff in horticulture and grounds maintenance, learning about gardening and recycling. The program has proven successful as nearly 90 percent of the students who successfully complete the program find and keep employment, some in leadership positions. Denver Zoo currently has three employees who started in SWAP and are doing very well.
