Once again we have noticed most of our posts here are being seen by an average of 1 out of one hundred subscribers lately. We are hearing from many of you via messages and thinking we have gone offline and others think they have been somehow blocked by our settings. We love to be missed and welcomed back but honestly we have gone nowhere... we just have no control of who sees these posts. As a reminder once again you need to open our Facebook page and click where you see liked and there will be a drop down menu that allows you to select get notifications. I would suggest this on ALL pages you have liked that you wish to receive their posts. Another setting that is helpful for many... on your own page you will see a setting on the left side for news feed and if you click it you will get to choose either most recent or top stories. If you choose top stories then basically you get what Facebook decides you via their algorithms. If you wonder why you always see feeds much older on top that would be the reason. There are many reasons for this happening. Some good, some bad. Facebook is trying to not clog your feed by getting so many posts like say those who choose to take selfies 6 times a day and feel the need of self assurance by you that they still look great with each hour they have aged. Okay, that was just my attempt at being funny but you get what I mean. But... the other reason and equally as important to Facebook for controlling your feeds is to leave open space so that there is room for advertisers. As a business, every time when I share a picture of Paradise I am asked to promote which for a fee guarantees it will be viewed by the number of people for which I have paid to see it. Once that number is reached you are asked to pay more to reach more. There are also many advertisers in your feed that are not companies you may have liked they just pay to slip in there and sell you something. As a company you can even pay to get likes which many do. I see a lot of companies asking people to LIKE ME all the time as well. Do we really do that??? You either like something or you dont and it seems rather creepy to ask to be liked. Many businesses will also pay companies to solicit people to like their pages as well. Click farms staffed by individuals in Egypt, India, the Philippines, Pakistan and a host of other countries are spamming pages with fake Likes. So basically, you have to be in control of your own page and news feed. You can create groups etc that allow you to more streamline what you want to receive but you must do the work. Facebook is not as simple as it once was and will probably only continue to take more effort to allow this social media to work for you the way you would like to do. We will keep sharing this reminder on occasion since we know that probably only 100 of the nearly 9000 of you here who have liked our page without being asked to will actually be able to see this post. ;) Great day to you! m
