Once in a while a little movie comes along that just brings it home for you. The Book of Life is one such tiny tale of love ... Please dont dismiss this as just another kids animation feature. Of course it is visually stunning and our veteran movie buff Parijat enjoyed every minute of it sitting on her own elevated seat, popcorn et.al, but there was a lot more to take back if one were to reflect for a second. Jorge Gutierrez weaves magic with more than just the spells that are cast in the film. Maria, Manolo and Joaquin take you with them on this beautiful tapestry of love, music, friendship, choices, consequences, wishes and wishful thoughts. A simple tale that helps you refocus on everything a wee bit better and know for sure that Love, true love, the really good kind of love, never dies.... especially if you choose to always play from your heart..
