Once on a glorious holy morn An innocent Holy Child was born Destined to follow His Father, no the authority of His day And to find twelve disciples to help Him with His mission on His way About that time, also in ancient Palestine Was a child born, whose fate was not to be divine, Destined to be a disciple, And live their lifestyle To walk with, and follow Jesus for a little while But then his heart grew blinded, and the truth he could not see He became wise in his own eyes, which only led to misery He sought to sell his master, In order to be free But soon discovered freedom is an illusive fantasy If you wonder what my point is, The irony is this The Christ Child destined to be King was betrayed by a kiss The same child destined to follow Him would some how miss The kingdom, of the Father and its heavenly bliss Oh, but that is not the only irony of this sad disgrace It will happen again and again in another time and place.
