Once the correct mix of solar panel technology is ready for production and deployment, somebody will deploy it, most likely first in the southwest USA which the site of many power-hungry cities. Once the technology is standardized and commonplace, it can be deployed to the oil-producing desert countries in the Middle East, then China, South Africa/Namibia, Central Asia, Chile, and lastly the poorer countries across the Sahara.
