Once, there lived a quite successful businessman in a city. When the husband got sick, the family began to sell their factories, one by one. They almost sold everything they had just to pay for the husband’s medication. After several months, they had to move downtown and open a small restaurant to pay for the living. Some years later, the husband passed away and that small restaurant had to change into some kind of small stalls next to a traditional market. After a long time without any news of this family, the wife could be found with her children selling things in the street side near the city square. She already had some grandchildren. Some people still recognized her as the woman who used to live in all luxury and wealth, and some people even talked and made rumors about it. But the wife always kept her friendly smile on her face whenever she had to deal with her customers. Her son then asked her mother, “Mom, how could you be that strong?”Hope, son! Never lose hope. A teacher once said, because of hopes we still plant trees even though we know we won’t be able to harvest its ripe fruits years later. Once you lose hope, you’ll lose the power to survive in this world.
