Once upon a time, 4 yrs ago, my friend Sarfaraz introduced me to this guy I am writing about. We both paid little attention to each other on that meeting. Four years later, I met him again when I went to Dhaka this spring. This time after we met, there was tremendous mutual respect, which quickly turned into lots of singing, group night outs, concerts, random snacking around the city till midnight and lots of rickshaw tours with more singing and serious philosophical arguments. One day, he suddenly looked for me on the ph and asked if I would do something for him. Surprisingly, he asked me be part of his music video. He is Shaik Bluesman Salekin , a former guitarist from Lalon band and his precious new group is called 12a.m. It was Salekins idea to incorporate 6 modern day young boys and girls in his music video to talk about pain and sorrow. In Bengali, the word is koshto and the song is about bearing pain and suffering by all of us. He asked the six of us to talk about our pain and how we experienced it. Through his song, the six of our feelings were reflected. Thank you Salekin, for asking me to be part of your amazing work.
