Once upon a time, I drove sports cars that were suitable for rallye racing... Triumphs, Fiats and the like. But, as my tastes matured, I fell in love with two cars, more suited for touring. One, is the 1953-55 Studebaker Loewy Coupe designed by Bob Bourke and Bob Koto, under the supervision of renowned industrial designer Raymond Loewy. The other is the 1956-60 Mercedes Benz Ponton Coupe, seen below. Comparing these two to any currently produced automobile makes me cringe to see how designers have devolved automotive style and elegance since the 1950s...
