Once upon a time, there was a tool, and the tool was self-important and tried really hard to be relevant by saying outlandish things. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Keith Olbermann using stats comparisons to prove that Derek Jeter wasnt all that special, and then ignoring stats to compare him unfavorably to Craig Nettles, a Yankee for 11 years with a career batting average 62 points below Jeters, and Thurman Munson who, for all his greatness, played 11 seasons and had a batting average 18 points below Jeters, and Mike Mussina, a Yankee for all of eight seasons. And, given time, I could come up with 50 other ridiculous points in his rant. Its sad to see someone begging for relevancy, and falling so far short. Im a Mets fan, for goodness sakes, and I think Jeter is among the best ever.
