Once when I was still quite young I was fighting with my brother and I said, I hate you. It felt wrong, but I did it anyway, because it gave me a feeling of power. Dont ever say that to your brother, my mom said. I obeyed her. In fact, I havent said the words since, to anyone. People have said it to me. These people arent really in my life, or are just at the margins of it. I feel sorry for them. Im the closest thing to my mom around, and my mom was awesome.
