Oncological common sense. Ive been saying this for years. Ive seen too many NON-smokers die of cancer for carcinogens to be the magic bullet that causes cancer. I understand that it increases the RISK. But whether you develop cancer or not is not so much dependent on what you do as who you are. This scientific study confirms what Ive been saying all along - observational evidence shows that random genetic factors play a larger role than ANY other cause. I know this violates monkey-wisdom. That impulse we have to see a correlation and attribute it as a sole cause that can be avoided. But monkey-wisdom only works in macro. Hungry panther + slow monkey = dinner.
