One Constitutionally-aware man decided not to play ball. Resident - TopicsExpress

One Constitutionally-aware man decided not to play ball. Resident Joe Draego refused to show police his ID, claiming the police were behaving in an unconstitutional manner. According to Draego, a heated debate ensued and the officer threatened to break his window before asking him to pull over. Draego didn’t stop there, though. According to the story, he crafted a sign reading, “This is how it started in Nazi Germany: police state checkpoints” and held it as a warning to other motorists. He must just be some rube, since every civilized American knows the authorities have our best interest in mind, right? An innocent man refused to show his ID in a residential neighborhood and the police threatened to both break his window and serve him a warrant. What part of that doesn’t scream “POLICE STATE” to anyone with half a brain? Draego’s actions are a small but important reminder of how every citizen has the power to insist their Constitutional rights are respected. Sunlight is often the best remedy for official abuse and corruption and he did his part to expose it. If only more Americans would do the same, they’d draw meaningful attention to the rampant abuses of our ever-growing police state.
